About Me

Pattern maker / Seamstress / Designer

When I was five years old, my Grandma taught me how to sew. Between her guidance and a decade of 4-H projects entered at the County and State Fair I knew I'd be sewing for my entire life. I attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and received my BFA in Costume Technology, where I figured out how to turn my hobby into a career. I have worked professionally as a Pattern Maker, Cutter, Tailor, Seamstress, and Designer all across the country, moving between Theatre, Opera, Ballet, and Film. Soon after meeting my now husband I moved to Logan, Utah in 2018 when he started his Ph.D. at Utah State University and I my M.F.A in Costume Design. Since then we have both completed our degrees and moved to Florence, Montana. I am currently the Associate Professor of Costume Technology at the University of Montana. That along with my own home studio space, I frequently take on freelance costume making and designing. In bridal work I mainly do alterations, specializing in sleeve additions and modesty coverage. The mountains have become my new home; along with our two dogs, Sofi and Copper; and ten chickens.
